Human Rights Education to empower indigenous population in Cusco

In this area, the local communities are at risk of suffer violations of their rights due to the activities of large corporations in the mining sector.

Amnesty Peru's project is one of a total of 15 projects operating with financial support from the 2012 NRK Telethon within the socalled Education Empowerment Justice (EEJ) Programme. The programme has now completed the third year of the 5 year long programme period. With activities in 24 countries, huge progress was made in 2015 in the empowerment of target groups that have been selected according to the need in each country.
