Strategy for HRE in the MENA region
In 2012, the IHREC has taken part in the development of an Amnesty International HRE strategy for Middle East and North Africa region. In doing so, the IHREC has worked closely together with the relevant teams of the IS and the Beirut Office. The IHREC has also worked with a group of youth from the region in having their input on the role of HRE in their respective countries.

Monitoring and evaluation
During 2011 and 2012, the IHREC led the process of collecting feedback and testing a monitoring and evaluation toolkit specifically designed for human rights education work in Amnesty International. The testing was finalised in mid-2012. Here you can read more about the monitoring and evaluation project.

Strategic partnership with AI Kenya
Amnesty Norway and AI Kenya have established a cooperation concerning HRE activities in Kenya. The cooperation encompasses funding HRE activities planned by AI Kenya in 2012 and 2013 and providing support and advice when requested. The IHREC is responsible for coordinating and following up this cooperation.

Education-Empowerment-Justice Programme (EEJ Programme)
The overall aim of the EEJ Programme is to reinforce the basic human rights of people across the world and contribute to greater justice for thousands of human beings through human rights education and empowerment initiatives. The programme will run over a period of five years, starting in the beginning of 2013.

HRE in Norway
